now i start to understand the helplessness of Sgt Djohan... coz its really not easy to do staff work, to supervise, to learn, to guide, to coordinate at the same time, when you don't have an upper study to learn/ shadow from, and immediately they throw you into the water, expect you to swim... BUT however, that's the best way to learn though, and only the strongest can survive throught this type of learning process, and emerge even stronger :) ----- Ahh!! it was a good ICT! Though quite mentally stressful and tired coz I've to run between school and Tanjung Gul for both Arts Camp and ICT, it was a good meet-up session with my good old friends of 1SIR. Hmm, on another note, I really hafta thank my S3 Maj Gary Chan, though he kiao-ed me lots and lots last time when I first entered 1SIR, but under him, I've really learnt alot alot about ops, which in a way affected my character, planning, thinking and organisational skills as well! :) And he taught me the importance and skills of walking-around-on-the-ground, letting-people-know-you, thinking-5-steps-in-advance, taking-a-step-back etc, which many others think that its wayang-ing and slacking I remembered he once said to me: "ah chuan! if you can stand my working style, you can strive in any circumstances next time!" Hope its true! Not forgetting that he brought me to New Zealand! :) Ah!! and Maj Ong too! from him I learnt that its ok if you dun have the looks (coz he's short! hurhur!), but you can still be the "man" when you're the one with the most knowledge! :) no one ever dare to say that he's wrong coz everyone knows that he reads alot alot.. And I remembered that for all the staff officers that I've seen, like my CO, S3 and S2, they can always joke around with each other when they're planning and obviously looking very stressed. And when the rest are working and fighting fires, they never seem to look worried, maybe that's the skill of "taking a step back" so that they can think several steps in advance. Which is why sometimes people have the impression that the higher rank you get, the less work you need to do, which is totally wrong! ----- On a personal note, it would be better if there had been some indicators along the way
